Line items roofers actually bill
Tear-off and disposal first — by the square, with the dump fee visible. Then what went on: underlayment, shingles or panels by the square, flashing, drip edge, ridge vent. Labor either bundled into the material lines or as its own section — pick one style and keep it. Permits, if you pulled them, get a line at cost. And if the deck needed repair once it was opened up, that's a line referencing the approval, not a surprise in the total. Clients pay clean invoices fast; they call about mysterious ones.

Restate the warranty on the invoice
The estimate promised a warranty; the invoice should repeat it. Two lines at the bottom — workmanship warranty in years, manufacturer warranty registered to the property — turn the invoice into the document your client keeps. It's also the cheapest referral tool you have: when that roof gets inspected at resale in six years, your name and number are on the paper that comes out of the drawer.
